Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
In short
Cancel any time. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
Payments already made are not refunded, except for billing errors or where the law requires it.
1. How Billing Works
- DocketIQ subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance, in US dollars.
- Your subscription renews automatically on the same day each month until it is canceled.
- The price of each plan is shown on the pricing page and at checkout before you pay.
2. How to Cancel
In DocketIQ, go to Billing and choose Cancel subscription. You are shown the date your access ends before you confirm, and we email a confirmation as soon as you do. A lead attorney or administrator of the firm can cancel.
If you cannot sign in, email support@codira.com from the email address of an account holder on the firm’s subscription, with the firm’s name and the words “cancel my subscription”. We confirm in writing within two business days, including the date access will end; a request received at least one day before your next renewal date stops that renewal.
You can cancel at any time; there is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Until your access ends, you can change your mind with Keep subscription on the same page.
3. When Cancellation Takes Effect
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Until then your firm keeps full access to DocketIQ, including its analysis token allowance, and no further charges are made.
4. Refunds
Subscription fees and purchases are non-refundable. In particular, we do not give refunds or credits for:
- part of a billing period after canceling;
- unused analysis tokens, whether from the monthly allowance or purchased; or
- seats, matters or features that were available but not used.
We will refund:
- billing errors — a duplicate charge, or a charge after a cancellation that took effect in time — if you tell us within 60 days of the charge; and
- any amount the law requires us to refund.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, and usually appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
5. Analysis Token Purchases
Additional analysis tokens are one-off purchases and are non-refundable. They have no cash value, do not expire while your subscription is active, and cannot be used once the subscription has ended.
6. Changing Plans
- Moving to a higher plan takes effect immediately. You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current billing period.
- Moving to a lower plan takes effect immediately. The prorated difference is credited to your account and applied to future invoices; it is not paid out as a refund.
7. Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor retries it and we notify you. If it remains unpaid, access may be suspended until the balance is settled. Suspension does not delete your firm’s data.
8. Your Data After Cancellation
For 30 days after your subscription ends, you can ask for an export of your firm’s data by writing to support@codira.com. After that, it is deleted as described in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Download anything you need to keep before your access ends.
